Mark Coughlan
Mark Coughlan (b: 20 April 1982) played for the Richmond Football Club from 2001-2009. He was the 1024th Richmond player to debut for Richmond.
![]() Coughlan played 92 games for the Richmond Football Club. He kicked 39 goals. He was selected in the 2000 National Draft in Round 2, Pick 25 as a recruit from the Perth Football Club. He won the 2003 Best and Fairest ahead of Kane Johnson. His playing career was interrupted due to an ACL injury on his right knee which he suffered in the third minute of the last quarter of Rd 12 2006 against Hawthorn. He did not play a senior game of football during the 2007 and 2008 seasons. He suffered a reoccurrence of the injury whilst showering sometime in December, and advised his teammates on 5 February 2007 that would undergo a second knee reconstruction. Coughlan received treatment for his injury from Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt in Germany. This enabled him to play some 2008 Pre Season matches In Rd 5 2009, he returned to the senior team (vs Nth Melbourne) for the first time since Rd 12 2006.
