Joel Bowden
Joel Bowden (b: 21 June 1978) was a Richmond Football Club player between 1996-2009. He was the 990th Richmond player to debut for the club.
Bowden played 265 senior games for the Richmond Football Club, placing him 9th on the all-time games list for the club. He kicked 174 goals in his career, including 5 goals in Rd 13 2001 vs StKilda. On 22nd March 2007, Bowden was elected as President of the AFL Players Association- a post he held until his retirment from football in August 2009. ![]() Bowden announced his retirement on Wednesday 12 August 2009 at a press conference held at the Punt Road Oval. His farewell game was the following weeks match against Collingwood. That night, he was honoured with a testimonal dinner.
