Alec Edmond
Alec Edmond played for the Richmond Football Club in their VFA seasons
Edmonds played from 1899 - 1907 season (Richmond's last in the VFA) He played 126 games and kicked 18 career goals. He was Richmond captain from 1901- 1907, and captained the club to the 1902 Premiership, and 1905 Premiership. He was the first Richmond player to captain the club to two Premierships. (Royce Hart 1973/74) He was bestowed a Richmond Football Club Life Membership in 1908 (Richmond's first VFL season). On Saturday 23 May 1942, he attended Richmond's match against Collingwood at Punt Road, where prior to game, in the clubrooms, he presented the club with his 1902 Premiership Medallion. As well, he gave the club a mirror, for use by the players, to perpetuate the memory of Richmond VFA /VFL secretary George Beachcroft. Edmond's first name is often spelt Alex, and his last name often spelt Edmonds.
