About 7,000 supporters are let in for free , after a 400metre queue was still outside , with about 5 minutes before the start of the game. Geelong and the AFL agreed to open up the gates and let those patrons in for free.
Chris Newman's first game back , since breaking his leg in Rd 13 2006.
Richmond only had one player who kicked a behind, Greg Tivendale. It's remaining 2 behinds were both rushed.
Kane Johnson is a late withdrawal from the selected squad and replaced by Daniel Jackson.

Report
Andrew Krakouer reported by Umpire Kieran Nicholls for allegedly kicking Darren Milburn (Geel) during the second quarter. This report is later downgraded to 'rough conduct' by the Match Review Panel.




Krakouer is cleared after Michael Tovey QC argues the contact was accidental. Milburn himself gave evidence via telephone during the 1 hour session. The jury deliberated for 8 minutes.

Curtain Raiser Match


The Curtain Raiser match, Coburg Tigers vs Geelong ends in a draw. The last quarter only runs 12 minutes and 29 seconds
